Shule Direct is proud to be a part of the PAMODZI Consortium, a collaborative effort aimed at promoting inclusive education policies in Tanzania, Malawi, and Kenya. Through this partnership, Shule Direct has been instrumental in influencing educational equity across borders.

The Pamodzi for Inclusive Education in South-East Africa is a three (3) year project, implemented by a transnational consortium of four organizations based in Africa funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), through the grant agent Oxfam IBIS under the Education Out Loud (EOL) program. The consortium is composed of Rays of Hope Ministries – Malawi, Fount for Nations – Malawi, Kesho Kenya – Kenya, and Shule Direct – Tanzania. The project focuses on the awareness gap, and the disconnect between inclusive education policies and implementation in Malawi, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Project Objectives:

  • To reduce the policy implementation and awareness gaps that exists between inclusive education policies and programming.
  • To develop a community driven, economic and social rationale for investing in theimplementation of inclusive and special needs education
  • To strengthen the advocacy campaign on key inclusive education investment areas, which influences on the increase of funding for inclusive and special needs education and to strengthen the advocacy.

Key Achievements in Tanzania:

In Tanzania, Shule Direct’s involvement in PAMODZI has yielded significant results:

  1. Geographic Reach: The project has expanded its reach to cover 15 districts across Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Dodoma regions.
  2. Community Engagement: 15 community structures have been established, and 225 community champions have been trained to advocate for inclusive education at the grassroots level.
  3. Data-Driven Approach: Pamodzi’s unique online monitoring tool provides real-time data on inclusive education initiatives in all three countries, enhancing transparency and accountability.
